Why does the myLink ask me to allow location services?
The myLink makes controlling your motorized window coverings easy and convenient. With the myLink device and app, you can create scenes and schedules, control your window coverings with the power of your voice, and even in combination with other smart devices.
When installing the myLink app, you’ll be asked to enable location services. Why?
The myLink app will prompt you to allow location services while going through the setup wizard. Having location services enabled allows the app to pinpoint your most accurate sunrise and sunset times. With the myLink, you can schedule your bedroom shades to raise at sunrise so you don’t wake to a blaring alarm clock. You can also schedule your living room draperies to close every night at sunset to maintain privacy.
By enabling location services, the myLink will be able to calculate the most accurate sunrise and sunset times for your specific location. If you decline, the sunrise and sunset times will be calculated by your time zone, which could mean less accurate results.
If you decline to enable location services while setting up the myLink, but decide you’d like more accurate sunrise and sunset times later, you can always go into your phone’s settings and enable location services for myLink at any time.
